Tarek Haque was born in Brahmanbaria, a small city of Bangladesh. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University of Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh in the year 2009. He completed Master of Science (Thesis) in Inorganic Chemistry from University of Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh in the year 2011. In his M. S thesis, he did research on physico-chemical assessment of surface and groundwater resources of the greater Comilla region of Bangladesh under the supervision of Dr. M. J. Ahmed. He was a chemistry teacher at National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh from April 2012 to July 2019. He enrolled for a Master of Science (Thesis) in Chemistry at Texas A & M University-Commerce in 2019 and graduated in August 2021. During his time in the program, he completed research work on an investigation of catalytic hydrothermal liquefaction of chlorella under the supervision of Dr. Ben Jang. Tarek joined the North Carolina State University as a Ph.D student in August 2021 where he now works under the supervision of Prof. Felix N. Castellano. In his free time, he enjoys watching documentaries and soccer matches.
