Anna Bonfiglio
Bio
Anna was born and raised in Messina, Italy where she obtained her B.S. and M.S. in chemistry from the University of Messina in 2015 and 2017, respectively. In December 2021, she earned her Ph.D. in chemistry and physical chemistry from the University of Strasbourg. During her graduate studies, Anna worked on the synthesis and photochemical investigation of novel phosphorescent Ir(III) and Re(I) N-heterocyclic carbene-based complexes with applications in photocatalysis, biomedicine, and optoelectronic devices. In March 2022, she moved to the Laboratory of Coordination Chemistry from CNRS in Toulouse as a postdoctoral researcher working on hydrogenation reactions catalyzed by Mn(I) N-heterocyclic carbene-based complexes.
In September 2023, she joined the Castellano group as a postdoctoral researcher working on the CHASE initiative.
Besides chemistry, Anna enjoys sports and travelling.
