Bio

Benedikt obtained his Master degree from Ulm University in Germany and Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.

From 2019 to 2024, he pursued his doctoral studies working on electron transfer and photocatalysis of ruthenium complexes and ruthenium-platinum dyads which was supported by the German National Academic Foundation.

He is joining the Castellano lab as a postdoctoral fellow and is investigating spin polarization between metal complexes and radicals for which he is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). His current research interests include the photochemistry, photophysics, and spin phenomena of earth abundant metal complexes.

In his free time, he enjoys preparing and eating good food and being outside hiking and running.
